Our Institute was started with 44 student-teachers from Dec 2004. The first set has gone out successfully with a passing result of 84.1%. From the year 2006-2007, orders have been obtained from the T.N. Govt. to admit 100 student-teachers every year.

Students from various districts of T.N. are admitted to study in this institute. Separate hostel facilities are provided both for the boys and girls. Club meetings and Literary Association meetings are held every month by the student-teachers headed by the Lecturers.

                               

Classes are held from 9.45 a.m to 5.45 p.m. Scout and Guides Training Programme was conducted and certificates were awarded for the I and II year student-teachers.

Community work, involving Physical Education, Library, reading, Work Experience and Computer programming is held everyday from 4.45 to 5.45 p.m dividing them into 5 groups supervised by the concerned teachers.

The teaching commonly consists of 11 full time lecturer and five special teachers besides 5 non teaching staff headed by the principal. Every year magazine and calendar are being provided to the students. Fax system is provided for the staff and students to cater to their needs. Subject wise annual field trips are arranged by the concerned teachers to train the student teachers to arrange and guide their future students.

A well qualified music teacher is appointed to give training in both Karnatic and Western music. National Festivals are celebrated inviting resource persons from various fields and special programmes are prepared and performed by the student teachers.
